For instructions, see the documentation that came with the utility. If a disk was formatted with a third-party disk utility, use the third-party disk utility for this procedure.
Update disk drivers to ensure that they aren't damaged or incompatible with the system. For instructions, see Windows Help or the documentation for the utility. Formatting erases all information on the disk. If you use external (non-system) disks for video, you can reformat them instead. Defragment hard disks by running the Disk Defragmenter utility included with Windows or a third-party disk utility, such as Symantec Norton Utilities. For further assistance with these tasks, contact the hardware manufacturer or an authorized repair service facility. 
It would be great if UI settings were not saved in the registry.Optimize hard disks by defragmenting them, updating their drivers, and configuring the disk drives to improve playback speed and performance in Adobe Premiere Elements.
Right click on the "fxhome" folder and choose "Delete". This may take a while but regedit will find a folder "fxhome" In that folder are Hitfilm Express 2017 and Organization Defaults. Make sure Keys has a check mark next to it and press "Find Next" In Registry Editor click "HKEY_USERS" under "Computer". 
Click on your start button and type "regedit", run regedit from the program list. Open explorer and navigate to: C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Localĭelete the folders: FXHOME and FXHOME Helper. Uninstall Hitfilm Express 2017 (this does not remove UI settings!). Hitfilm shows the two windows and then hangs. Once the viewer was floated and I reopen Hitfilm the next day it would not start. My system: Win 10, AMD 1700, SSD drives, GTX 1060 6GB, 16 GB Ram.įloating the viewer on my systems makes Hitfilm extremely unstable. This may only help if have have floated the viewer. Posting what fixed it in my case here as well.
